October 6, 2010 – Hewlett-Packard Co. is making headlines with the appointment of  new CEO and chairman Léo Apotheker, but they are also adding staff in other areas. Former cloud evangelist Joe Weinman has joined the cloud development team as the technical superpower.

This news was found on Lightreading in their article, “SPIT Watch: HP’s Cloud Hire.” Weinman’s new role will include developing cloud strategies across the company’s Enterprise Business group. HP has had previous success in helping carriers develop their cloud offerings, as recent as this summer with the French telecom operator, SFR.

Cloud technology has caught the attention of many over the recent years. Maybe it will help spur a little better economy for technological careers and investments? One can hope.
