November 17, 2010 – The annual InformationWeek Analytics Business Intelligence and Information Management Survey shows that businesses need systems that can be quickly adapted to support changing requirements–to get the most out of an acquisition, enter a new market, or find new customers.

Information Week brought this news to our attention in their article, “Business Intelligence: How To Get Agile.” The need for agility can be seen everywhere, including the trends that are shaping business intelligence. However, business people want agility in their business intelligence, but they don’t want to spend money on it. Information management includes data discovery, modeling, integration, and cleansing as well as database optimization–all tough, time-consuming challenges. Constantly merging companies doesn’t make the process any easier.

Check out the article for the full results of this survey. They are interesting and maybe not too surprising.
