Thermo Fisher Scientific releases an updated version of their ProteinCenter software. This product includes more than 223 million protein-protein interactions in its database and direct support for the Cytoscape open source platform. This new version of ProteinCenter includes plug-ins for bioinformatics, social network analysis, and the semantic web.

We found this interesting information in Drug Discovery and Development and their article, “Proteomics Software.” The new release enables scientists to quickly interpret complex data sets and extract meaningful biological information within minutes. Conventional bioinformatics software tools can require months of analysis to produce the same data results, so ProteinCenter could potentially save a great deal of time and money.
