Siri, IBM’s Watson and other such services are good examples of how smart personal assistants are increasingly listening and understanding what is being said. Computers are increasingly using natural language processing, semantic analysis, and machine learning, combined with data, to understand humans, conjure up answers and recommendations, or direct people to services and information.

This interesting information was found on Gigaom in their article, “The coming age of the smart personal assistant.” Is this just the beginning? They have their limitations. So as the technology progresses, will we see the personal assistant software evolving to meet and exceed their current service levels with no limitations? It will be interesting to watch and see.
