The Book Industry Study Group (BISG) is hosting a Metadata Summit next month in New York City.

The Summit is scheduled for May 8, 2015 and the agenda includes a review of the business case for the key elements of metadata, the inevitable friction points that accompany change, BISG’s collaborative solutions, and how the industry can best prepare for tomorrow’s challenges and opportunities.

Accurate and robust metadata boosts findability and efficiency. This is especially true when all parties are using standard formats and data elements. Technological changes are happening at the speed of light, enabling rich new forms of content that can be distributed in new ways to reach more people. At the same time, these changes are placing new demands on book metadata management and its transmission.

This Summit would be helpful for metadata managers and anyone responsible for maintaining, managing, disseminating, or receiving product metadata. Register here.
