Textbooks are large in both size and cost. Add to that how fast they become outdated, and is easy to understand why other options are being sought. Higher Learning Technologies is looking to make textbooks into more effective tools for education by converting them into mobile learning apps. Silicon Prairie News brought this information to us in their article, “Higher Learning Technologies is putting textbooks into apps.”

The apps include practice questions and tests to give students the ability to track their progress and make it easy to search for relevant material. They can be updated dynamically, which gives the app a longer life than paper textbooks ever dreamed.

Higher Learning Technologies started with one app for a very small target market. In 2017, they plan to launch 25 new titles and expand into test prep for CPAs.
