The Publishing & Scholarly Publishing (PSP) Books Committee of the Association of American Publishers (AAP) will be offering an educational opportunity live and via webinar titled, ‘Working with Partners to Improve the Impact & Reach of Your Metadata on Wednesday, March 29th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Two major forms of metadata have become industry standard for transmitting book information — ONIX and MARC. At the most basic level they are fundamental for title visibility, but used in a more enhanced way, they can be effective tools for improving sales and expanding trading partners. Yet publishers generally lack a solid understanding of these metadata standards and how customers use them.

This seminar will look at ONIX and MARC to understand how they are used in the industry with a focus on what customers expect and how the transmitted information is ultimately used by the end user.

The guest speaker talks are free of charge, but registration is required as space is limited.
