Even though the Internet of Things (IoTs) has been around for awhile, it still feels like a dystopian novel title to me. However, for some it is very new and confusing. It is easy to explain it as the devices that connect you remotely to your home or appliances, but important to remember that it is beyond just the mechanical connection. From a business strategy perspective, IoT offers insights through analytics that not only predicts, but helps you define the outcomes you want. This interesting topic came to us from ZDNet and their article, “In 2018, IoT will move beyond experimentation.”
It is important to remember that to capitalize on any of the benefits, it requires organizations to collaborate in new ways. They can harness the potential made possible by IoT and then the platform offerings will have the ability to specialize to meet the specific needs of the user.
