Digital Science launched a new platform – Dimensions – intended to transform scholarly search. Digital Science brought this news to us in their article, “Digital Science Launches Dimensions: a Next-generation Research and Discovery Platform Linking 124 Million Documents, Providing Free Search and Citation Data Across 86 Million Articles.”

This is a collaboration between six Digital Science portfolio companies (Altmetric, Digital Science Consultancy, Figshare, Readcube, Symplectic and ÜberResearch) and more than 100 research funders and universities. Their end result offers a faster way to discover and analyze the global research landscape instead of searching across multiple poorly integrated tools.

According to Daniel Hook, CEO at Digital Science, “The Dimensions project is a response to an urgent need for a more modern and inclusive research information platform, one which truly services the needs of both researchers and research institutions.”

Whatever you are searching for, it is important to choose a product that results in dynamic content, content that is findable. Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able to help its clients generate ANSI/ISO/W3C-compliant taxonomies and associated rule bases for machine-assisted indexing.
