September 9, 2010 –The irony with the goal of having strategic content management was not lost on this reader. Nor was it lost on the author of “Strategic Content Management”, A List Apart’s latest post.
This informative and entertaining article highlights the history and application of content management systems and is worth the time to read. It reinforces the need for quality and reminds us that anything worth doing is worth doing right.
Strategic content management is much like standards. It takes time to strategize content and build a model for CMS selection, just like it takes time and hard work to develop an ANSI-compliant controlled term list. Some people shirk that hard work and take what they see as the easy route, both in strategizing their content management and building taxonomies. Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able and willing to help its clients generate ANSI-compliant taxonomies.
