Computer science curriculum is making its way into the education system in Great Britain. The Royal Society labeled current offerings as “highly unsatisfactory.” According to these professionals, the education system is suffering from a shortage of teachers able to teach beyond basic digital literacy. They also pointed fingers at the lack of demand from high level educational institutions.
There are still some people out there who think the Internet is just a fad and will go by the way of 8-track tapes and bomb shelters. The number of these skeptics is decreasing, but I can say (proudly or not) that I know and am related to one in particular. My sister, the teacher, believes technology is causing the demise of our children and their education. Now, I won’t go that far. She is on the verge of creating her own version of “The Village.”

They were one of the pioneers in indexing the huge amounts of data that were generated in the early information superhighway, that was really more like a county road at the time compared to the data created and transmitted today.
