Locu is a data-focused startup founded by MIT graduates and computer science researchers that plan to create the world’s largest real-time, structured repository of small business offerings data. Their goal is that this data source will increase the efficiency of local search.
CYIOS has submitted its patent application for CYIPRO with the USPTO. Their project-based management system reinforces the team approach by allowing everyone to work on goal centric projects. According to Timothy Carnahan, CEO of CYIOS, "If you're not working on a project within a team, then most likely you're not working toward the goals of the organization."
Editing by committee is a prolonged, mostly painful, process that quite often sends me running away seeking refuge among my own office and my own delete key. Crowdsourcing can be very similar. One approach that can help is to have a taxonomy built with categories and terms that apply to the entire industry.
