The Special Libraries Association (SLA) and the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET) are presenting the latest resource in their Learning Initiative Partnership (LIP) series.
This paper, “The Transparency of Peer Review“, is available to all SLA members at no cost, and all SLA members are encouraged to take a moment to download the white paper.
Peer review, or editorial peer review, is the process by which outside experts assess academic manuscripts and grant applications. Taxonomies can be integrated into the peer review process, as well as other aspects of the scholarly publishing workflow.
Strong, transparent peer review processes usually results in a more trustworthy final product. That benefits both scientific enterprises and academia, and therefore society.
