Loop is the research network created by Frontiers and they recently began collaborating with ORCID to link and synchronize researcher profile information. This interesting news came from ORCID’s blog.
Loop was officially launched in January 2015 and was designed to seamlessly plug into the environments of researchers, their universities and on published articles via a range of free plugins and badges.
This allows a trail from universal academic profiles that follow authors into their online academic environments. In other words, they leave breadcrumbs, much like metadata.
Making this connection impacts the findability of data. Professionals should look for an experienced builder of solid standards-based taxonomies to associate content for appropriate machine-assisted indexing. Access Innovations can provide solutions that are ANSI compliant.
