Change is not for the lighthearted. Just ask anyone in the publishing business. Today change is occurring faster than it ever has before. Technology’s pace of change continues to increase, yet humans are much slower to adapt. It is difficult to change our habits and that is what makes adapting to technological change so difficult. This interesting topic came to us from Book Business in their article, “Mastering Change in Book Publishing.”
People and organizations cannot simply decide to change. New processes must be adopted, new teams formed, and training must take place to approach problems differently. Book publishers need to do the same thing in order to evolve and thrive in the digital age.
Organizations continue to shift to digital publications, which have their own issues and concerns. The important factor of digital data is consistency, and what provides consistency? Standards. Of course we are all about standards. Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able to help its clients generateANSI/ISO/W3C-compliant taxonomies.
