Artificial intelligence (AI) seems advanced and futuristic, but in reality it is quite juvenile. This means there is great potential for it to develop and progress. This interesting topic came to us from MedCity News in their article, “AI is “still pretty dumb” and like a “2-year-old”.”
The best example of AI today is still driven entirely by a version of semantic models, which is understanding language and the relationship of words to each other. Right now that is done by volume. To take it to the next level of understanding requires an ontological model where you can describe a structure abstractly.
Those in technology expect a lot out of AI. It has certainly transformed many aspects of our daily and business world and it likely will change the Internet someday, but not in the foreseeable future.
