Remembering passwords has become a challenge. No longer is it safe, or even allowed in some instances, to use easy, familiar passwords like your pet’s name. More odd characters and difficult “pass phrases” are becoming the normal. This interesting information came to us from The Wall Street Journal in their article, “Why Your Face Will Soon Be the Key to All Your Devices.”
Face recognition technology is becoming a new feature in a variety of applications. A face recognition system is a computer application capable of identifying or verifying a person from a digital image or a video frame from a video source. One of the ways to do this is by comparing selected facial features from the image and a face database.
It has been used in security systems and is similar to biometrics such as fingerprint or eye iris recognition systems. In the near future, it will likely be in our everyday lives and replace the long string of characters to access your personal information.
