The Professional/Scholarly Publishing (PSP) Books Committee of the Association of American Publishers (AAP) will be hosting guest speaker Brian O’Leary, Executive Director of the Book Industry Study Group (BISG) on Friday, September 15th from 12:30-1:30 p.m. (ET) at the McGraw-Hill/NY offices.
In the fall of 2016, the BISG Board adopted a new strategic plan to deliver on the organization’s core objectives: to serve as an information hub for book publishing; to promote standards and best practices across the supply chain; to conduct research that informed and advanced the industry; and to build a community committed to solving problems that affect two or more parts of the industry. Its executive director, Brian O’Leary, will provide an overview of that plan and a summary of progress to date. He will also describe the overarching problems BISG is working to solve in 2017 and beyond. O’Leary will also explain how members of AAP’s PSP community can make sure their voices are heard on issues relevant to their part of the publishing industry.
The guest speaker talks are free of charge but you will need to sign up as space is limited. If you wish to attend, please contact Sara Pinto and state whether you would like to attend in person or remotely.
