The program is full of gems from the trade. The first workshop is “Distinguishing Analytics, Business Intelligence & Data Science” presented by Pragyansita Nayak. This talk will make you conversant with some of these terms, such as analytics, business intelligence and data science.
The keynote speaker is Nipa Basu on “The Future of Analytics.” Early developments in statistical/econometric theory were dominated by the need for efficient use of the scarce computing power, and thus scarce data. That problem has been turned on its head with our ability to crunch data at incredible speed: the big data revolution. In this keynote session, we will:
- Identify a few areas where this big data is leading to incredible insight
- Identify areas where big data is still primarily big data, and not YET big insight
- Review current and future trends in the business world
