The internet of things (IoT) has experienced a rise in popularity, but it may not be wholly due to its own merits. The IoT is making a difference in the world. It integrates with numerous industries and can be found in many homes around the globe. Adding to that, research firms like Gartner and the International Data Corporation (IDC) predict monumental growth in terms of connected devices and profits. This interesting information came to us from Venture Beat in their article, “The prevalence of AI-powered IoT devices inspires mixed emotions.“
However, the intersection with artificial intelligence (AI) is responsible for many of the IoT’s advantages. We already benefit from this interplay, but the duo still has more potential.
The way forward would be to take advantage of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats AI- and IoT-enabled devices offer. This will require addressing things like standards, privacy measures, and security. There are plenty more benefits to this collaboration to be achieved.
