It is important for organizations to start their analytics journeys with meaningful data. Unfortunately, many organizations do this backwards. CDO Trends brought this interesting topic to our attention in their article, “Building a Data Science-Friendly Organization.”
The data science journey begins when organizations start collecting meaningful data and this typically entails focusing on the desired result and using it to figure out what needs to be done. This style of approach ensures that teams are focused on what the customers wants and needs.
Flexibility is key for data science and that can come with cloud computing. In addition to agility, it offers speed when needed. Establishing data lakes in the cloud, where complex queries can be performed quickly on massive volumes of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data, changes the journey and reduces the challenges. Analytics can be run when they need to deliver insights and guide better decisions.
