As conferences continue to become virtual, online and digital, the importance of sustained, strategic investment by research libraries and research universities is highlighted in the face of the sudden emergency of COVID-19.
The Coalition for Networked Information (CNI) has been working with the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) to bring this information to the fore with particular emphasis on research libraries and scholarly communication. They are making This document looks back over past decades and takes the story up to the present time. They are interested in the CNI community’s views on where to go from here, particularly in light of what has taken place in the in recent months. They are inviting those who want to share their thinking on areas that still demand sustained strategic investment, areas where they have been under-invested, or areas where large-scale strategic investment is no longer needed.
