Machine learning operations technology is enabling IT teams to deploy, monitor, manage and govern machine learning projects in production. SC Media brought this interesting topic to our attention in their article, “Why the information security of your company depends on machine learning.”
Much like DevOps for software, machine learning operations provides the tools needed to maintain dynamic machine learning-driven applications. The security of future enterprise may just depend on these new applications and the code that powers them.
With anything, there are risks. First off, humans are not machines, so data scientists are not programmers and vice versa. Then, there is the data corruption or pollution. Models are the product of data and algorithms. If the data used to train those models contains patterns that are unknown to you but favorable to someone outside your business, that could be bad for you.
And as with any other online or cloud application, cyber threats still exist.
