You know my fondness for interesting taxonomies, even if they aren’t scientifically sound. It is Friday, so let’s have a little retro fun. This interesting information came to our attention from Prime Timer in their article, “A Taxonomy of Nineties TV Reboots.’
Even before the pandemic began there were many television shows from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s making a comeback; even a few reunion shows. Most recently I watched the reunion show for The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, which was entertaining – even if it was a little wake-up call to how we have all aged.
This interesting article breaks down the different show reboots into pseudo classifications. There are some opportunities to learn. For example, I knew there had been a Roseanne (The Connors) reboot and a Full House (Fuller House) follow-up, but I did not know about Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. – and maybe that is for the best.
I find it comforting to know that taxonomies exist in all parts of our lives, not just information science or biology.
