These days it is all about COVID-19: diagnosing, finding vaccines, understanding transmission and necessary precautions. Technology is involved every step of the way. This interesting information was brought to us from The Star of Mysore in their article, “Machine Learning Approach To Detect COVID-19.”
One physician and professor at the Science and Technology University in Mysuru, India has developed a model for detecting COVID-19 from chest X-ray images. The model learns from sample images and is expected to open up several new dimensions in the field of machine learning.
Other studies have found different ways to utilize machine learning and other emerging technologies to diagnose or predict potential outbreaks.
To train a neural network from scratch, much data is needed, as well as a great deal of processing power and time, which can be impractical. At present, artificial intelligence (AI) is more and more used in the diagnosis and analysis of medical images.
