What is social good and how can technology make it happen? This interesting topic came to us from Machine Learning Times in their article, “How Machine Learning Works for Social Good.”
Social good is something that benefits the largest number of people in the largest possible way, such as clean air, clean water, healthcare and literacy. Its history goes back to ancient Greek philosophers and implies a positive impact on individuals or society in general.
Through predictive analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI), social good can be achieved, enhanced and perfected. When applied critically to certain social problems, technology can help to facilitate significant, positive social change.
The global economy has drastically changed, with entrepreneurs and leaders emerging at younger ages every day and an economy that is now driven mainly by innovation. If we continue to empower only one specific type of leader and neglect to open up marketplaces to the unique and much-needed talents of different individuals, then economies within both the developed and developing world will suffer.
