Much like the rest of the world, Canadian organizations are still trying to find their way through the hype to get the real value out of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. This interesting subject came to us from IT World Canada in their article, “How to move past the hype to succeed with AI.”
“There is a lack of understanding,” said a CIO from the financial sector at a recent CanadianCIO virtual roundtable. “We need more substance on what AI can do for us and how it ties to our business objectives.”
Success with analytics and AI will definitely depend on the data. Many organizations continue to fail to effectively apply AI to solve specific business cases. The hype around AI has led to a trend where every vendor claims to leverage it in their technology, solutions or products, causing extreme confusion, and in some cases, frustration among technology users.
