Business intelligence (BI) combines business analytics, data mining, data visualization, data tools and infrastructure, as well as best practices to help organizations to make more data-driven decisions. A recent survey shows more organizations are using more BI platforms. This interesting news came to us from all places – Texas News Today – in their article, “BI fabric is slowly but steadily evolving.”
Respondents to an informal social media survey show that 25% of organizations use more than 10 BI platforms, 61% use more than 4 and 86% of organizations use more than one. In theory, most experts would measure modern BI when you have a comprehensive view of your organization’s data and use that data to drive change, eliminate inefficiencies and quickly adapt to market or supply changes.
Enterprises are good at collecting data, and the Internet of Things (IoT) is taking data to new levels. However, even the most advanced organizations are using it to enhance their digital transformation.
