The New York Times Company has announced that they will invest more than $50 million over the next three years to support their plan to expand their international digital audience and increase revenue outside the United States. This interesting news came from The New York Times in their article, “New York Times Plans International Digital Expansion.”

Joe Kahn, an assistant masthead editor for international, will lead the newly formed team named NYT Global.

The New York Times moved beyond its local boundaries to become a national newspaper in the 1990s and according to its executives, they are taking advantage of the opportunity to become a global leader by expanding its presence outside the country’s borders.
