October 1, 2010 – Yearning for the Dewey Decimal System to guide him through the Internet, one blogger has shared his unique and humorous perspective about the information superhighway. He makes the point that the more precisely we can describe things, the more precisely people will be able to find what they need.
This perspective was found in PCWorld’s blogpost, “The Internet Needs a Dewey Decimal System.” In reading his tales of woes in finding specific products without the correct search words, it seems like he is yearning for the semantic web to become what we are constantly being promised it will be someday. But it is worth the time to read, if only for the humor factor.
