November 8, 2010 – New Orleans is the location of Supercomputing 2010 (SC10), this year’s International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage and Analysis, on November 13-19, 2010. Sponsors are the IEEE Computer Society and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). Supercomputing 2010 offers a complete technical education program and exhibition to showcase the many ways high performance computing, networking, storage and analysis lead to advances in scientific discovery, research, education and commerce.
We found this story on Scientific Computing in their article, “On the Cutting Edge.” Each year, the SC Technical Program highlights key thrust areas that are integrated throughout the various components of the program to showcase the SC community’s impact on these new and emerging fields. For SC10, the technological thrust areas are climate simulation, heterogeneous computing and data-intensive computing. Funding agents, vendors, servers, producers and consumers of data will congregate to discuss the technical and social issues related to the mountain of data.
