January 13, 2011 – According to analysts, the new year brings enterprises looking for opportunities to tap self-service business intelligence systems and SaaS-based business intelligence offerings.

We found this interesting information on Computer World in their article, “Self-service BI, SaaS, analytics will dominate in 2011.” Other items that are also likely to be high on the enterprise agenda include technologies that enable businesses to do more real-time analysis of large data volumes, social media analytics and mobile business intelligence.

This seems to be driven by Web-based technologies being adopted by more and more companies to deliver business intelligence capabilities. These technologies include emerging new search and discovery technologies from companies like Attivio and Endeca. Such tools are designed to enable companies to implement user-configurable, search-based business intelligence applications involving large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
