February 17, 2011 – Both business intelligence (BI) and data analytics require data. Integration acts as the foundation for enabling what BI and data analytics bring to the enterprise.
This interesting topic was found on one of eBiz’s blogposts authored by Hollis Tibbetts, “Integration on the Edge: Data Explosion & Next-Gen Integration.”
To reap the operational benefits of business intelligence/analytics and comply with governmental or industry regulations, there must be a solid data foundation. Cloud-based data, legacy data, data in spreadsheets, data in different databases — the list goes on and on. Accessing data can be the real challenge. Then add semantic technology to the mix and it just got a lot more complicated.
With all that at stake, a solid data integration platform, and plan, is important. Choose wisely.
