Semantic and Search – Match Made in Heaven?

March 2, 2011 – Expert System and Vejo Park have announced a collaboration with the Crisis Unit for Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the development of a software platform for the identification and real-time selection of important information from the Web. The results of that collaboration will include integration between Vejo Park’s G3Docs software and Expert System’s COGITO semantic software.

PRLog brought this news to our attention in their article, “Expert System and Vejo Park Collaborate for Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.” Vejo Park’s G3Docs software uses a specially configured crawler that creates a specialized search engine that monitors specific web sites. The system gives visibility to information for predetermined topics or subjects within pre-established parameters. Cogito extends semantic search capabilities to all formats of information, and goes beyond keyword based technology.

We all know that the combination of semantic technology and search engines can result in superior findability.
