Watson creator, David Ferrucci, has received one of IBM’s most prestigious honors – he has become an IBM Fellow.
iStock Analyst brought this news to our attention in their article, “Ferrucci, RPI grad, named IBM Fellow.” Ferrucci leads the Semantic Analysis and Integration Department at IBM’s Watson Research Center in Yorktown. What he’ll be doing next is anyone’s guess since the IBM Fellow program is very selective and gives those who make it wide latitude to pursue their research interests at IBM.
With nearly 400,000 employees worldwide, only 217 people have ever been granted this distinction, which was designed to promote creativity among the company’s technical experts. So this begs the question, what comes after Watson?
