T-System, Inc. has acquired Practice Management Associates who specialized in providing coding and billing services for emergency departments.

MarketWatch brought this news to our attention in their article, “T-System Acquires Practice Management Associates.” Currently T-System supports more than 40 percent of the nation’s hospitals with documentation systems to maximize reimbursement and decrease payer denials. Clinical documentation and medical coding are very closely linked so this new matching makes perfect sense.

The new ICD-10 coding classification system that goes into effect in October 2013 will have five times the number of codes to use for billing reimbursement. Access Innovations’s M.A.I. machine assisted indexing system and specialists in complex coding, tagging, and indexing can minimize the risk of coding errors with proper training and quality assurance. Many widely used tagging systems lack the user friendly interface and may not implement a rigorous ANSI compliant coding subsystem. Access Innovations’ solutions are ANSI compliant and implement state-of-the-art technology to speed tagging and reduce errors.
