Netherlands publisher Elsevier has announced that the European Research Council (ERC) has selected the SciVerse Scopus database to assist in the tracking and awarding of funding opportunities for researchers throughout the world.
This news was found on KnowledgeSpeak in their article, “European Research Council Selects Elsevier’s SciVerse Scopus Database.” The ERC is the European funding body managing the ‘Ideas Programme’ of the European Commission’s Seventh Framework Programme.
SciVerse Scopus claims to be the largest abstract and indexing database of peer-reviewed literature in the world. The data provided by SciVerse Scopus will be used to track the success of the funded projects.
Information being findable is the result of good indexing and comprehensive metatagging. With a database the size of SciVerse Scopus, it is vital.
