Here are some important tidbits regarding the 2013 meeting:
- The University/Midtown Hampton Inn is our main conference hotel. Located a mile away from the Access Innovations offices, rates are $79 per night. You can reserve a room by calling the hotel directly at 505-837-9300 and using the code DAT.
- Rooms are also available at the Homewood Suites by Hilton at Albuquerque Uptown. Located approximately two miles from the Access Innovations offices, the Homewood Suites offers a free shuttle within a three-mile radius. Rates are $99 per night, and you can book online or call the hotel directly at 505-881-7300 with the code DHU.
- The Provisional Agenda is now posted online for your perusal.
And here is yet another exciting case study we have lined up for you:
John Kuranz, CEO of Access Integrity, Inc., will relay how implementation of electronic medical records (EMRs) has increased dramatically since the federal government’s “meaningful use” initiative. Studies have proven EMRs to be a valuable source of information for diagnostic research, coding enhancement, and understanding of an overall patient encounter. Additionally, research has shown that the text content in EMRs often contain important information relevant to outcomes, concomitant diseases, procedures, interventions, and test results in observational studies. Manual review of EMRs is time-consuming, subjective, and inefficient. Furthermore, manually applying codes and terms as metadata to index records is laborious. The solution to these problems is the use of machine-aided indexing software to extract diagnostic and other clinical information.
We look forward to seeing you at DHUG 2013!
