Artificial intelligence continues to tease even the most scientific professionals. The idea of a man-made technology that can rival human intelligence in processing and understanding is the brass ring for many. So it was no surprise when IBM’s Watson fascinated technologists during its performance on Jeopardy in 2011.
Interestingly, many searches on Google are done in the form of questions. If the search engine had a better understanding of the natural language, the ability to answer questions would be enhanced. This interesting topic was discussed on the Seeking Alpha blog in their post, “The Search Engine Of The Future.”
Some natural language processing fans will always be seeking the illusive, superior artificial intelligence depicted in science fiction movies, and we may reach that level of use at some point in the future. But for now, this technology will continue to advance and evolve, and hopefully, enhance our lives.
