Big data has challenged organizations in the storage and access arena, and beyond. Microsoft has answered the cry for help with its Data Explorer for Excel 2013 product. The product comes with a mouse click-enabled dashboard that allows users to perform mash-ups of structured data from databases and unstructured data from various sources. This approach is quickly becoming contagious as other providers are following suit with similar offerings.
