Embracing Knowledge Management

KM Institute (KMI) just offered its first Certified Knowledge Specialist (CKS) 4-day class this week in Reston, VA. Why are we talking about something that has already happened? The CKS is a new Certification by KMI designed to take a sharper focus on a specific knowledge management-related topic. In this case, the focus was on Taxonomy and Search Solutions. This interesting news came from Digital Journal in their article, “KM Institute to Debut Its First “Certified Knowledge Specialist” Program in  Taxonomy and Search Solutions.”

Mr. Zach Wahl, President of Enterprise Search, facilitated the 2-day portion of the CKS that covers taxonomy  in depth, called the “Master Class.”  This expansion of curriculum and exploration of new and important topics in the world of knowledge management will prove value to those seeking certification.
