Preservica has recently announced a series of new connectors that make it easy for records managers to securely preserve Microsoft SharePoint content and Microsoft Outlook email and attachments for the long term. PRWeb brought this interesting information to us in their article, “New version of Preservica aligns Records Management and Digital Preservation.”
This may not seem like exciting news but I am sure the legal departments in organizations will be happy to hear this. For discovery and historical purposes, it is part of a strategy to enable government and business organizations to integrate enterprise content management (ECM) with digital preservation in order to improve information governance across the full life cycle. This will help eliminate the risk that vital digital records will be unreadable when required, due to technology and file format obsolescence.
All records management systems need a system of indexing to create findability. We know that indexing against a strong, standards-based taxonomy can ensure comprehensive search results. Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able to help its clients generate ISO/ANSI/NISO compliant taxonomies to produce comprehensive results.
