Speaking of Standards

EBSCO Information Services fully supports the final recommendations of the Open Discovery Initiative (ODI) working group for best practices for discovery services. In the ODI, several objectives are identified as follows: metadata sharing, fair or unbiased linking from discovery services to publisher content, and the provision of usage statistics. IT Business Net brought this news to us in their article, “EBSCO Announces Support for Open Discovery Initiative Recommendations.”

EBSCO’s support of the ODI recommendations is significant, as they have been a long-time supporter of NISO, consensus standards development, and standards implementation.

Speaking of standards, Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able to help its clients generate ANSI/ISO/W3C-compliant taxonomies.
