Elsevier is known for being a provider of scientific, technical, and medical information products and services. They recently announced an expanded collaboration with Ex Libris, who is known for their library automation services. This interesting news came from Library Technology Guides in their article, “Elsevier Collaborates with Ex Libris to offer automated updates to subscribed e-content.”
The collaboration will allow mutual customers to benefit from a fully automated workflow that will keep the library full-text access levels up to date for both journals and books.
This latest move is part of ScienceDirect’s ongoing effort to make Elsevier content seamlessly accessible and discoverable in third-party applications.
Automated operations can reduce and even eliminate manual tasks and processes, and save money. Much like automated indexing makes content findable.
