Book lovers everywhere understand how difficult it was for us to give up the feel and smell of real books in our hands after the release of e-readers drew us to the dark side. I resisted for a while, but the ability to take ten times my normal 5-7 books on a vacation or work trip without taking up extra luggage room overrode the nostalgia. The Daily Times brought this issue to our attention in their article, “Book culture — making a comeback?”
In Pakistan, the book culture is alive and well. The National Book Foundation (NBF) is playing a huge role in promoting the literary culture of books, and this includes textbooks. NBF is establishing standards in textbooks and assisting authors in benchmarks and parameters in textbook development.
Speaking of standards, Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able to help its clients generate ANSI/ISO/W3C-compliant taxonomies.
