Altmetric recently released a new functionality enabling users to search the entire Altmetric database, which contains attention data for over 4 million research outputs. This can be done by using an ORCID identification. Knowledge Speak brought this interesting information to us in their article, “Altmetric adds ORCID search functionality.”
Now researchers, publishers, librarians and others can find online content associated with the ORCID profile of a specific author. Altmetric was one of the early members of ORCID and is committed to helping users get the most out of their ORCID profiles. The new search filter is live and available across all versions of the Explorer platform.
Making content findable to users, researchers, professionals, academics, etc., is the goal of the Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) organization. Launched in October 2012, this community effort has reached 1.5 million registrations.
