Elsevier has acquired Hivebench, the flagship product of researcher application developer Shazino. This tool will be integrated into Elsevier’s existing Research Data Management portfolio, resulting in the further enhancement of the researcher experience. PR Newswire brought this news to us in their article, “Elsevier Acquires Laboratory Data Management Tool Hivebench.”
Hivebench is a digital laboratory notebook that helps researchers save valuable time with experiments by capturing data in one location. Together, these two technologies will improve the overall experience. Additional metadata and actions from the researcher can be captured via daily micro-steps instead of the current process of having to structure, manage and submit data all the way at the point of submission.
Research data is the foundation on which scientific, technical and medical knowledge is built and this step will reduce some of the challenges in making it accessible and shareable.
Making data accessible is something we know a little about. Whatever you are searching for, it is important to have a comprehensive search feature and quality indexing against a standards-based taxonomy. Choose the right partner in technology, especially when your content is in their hands. Access Innovations is known as a leader in database production, standards development, and creating and applying taxonomies.
