Since we are on the topic of technology careers today, it seems appropriate to share the news that the University of Illinois School of Information Sciences is launching a new master’s degree program, the master of science in information management. This interesting information came to us from the Illinois Business Daily in their article, “Illinois adds masters of science in information management.”
The master of science in information management degree covers advanced information management and analysis skills, emphasizing the practical application of data-driven solutions. The degree is designed to prepare students for successful careers in the design and management of information systems. With a flexible curriculum that can be tailored to career interests, there are four professional paths offered: data science and analytics; privacy, trust, security, and ethics; information architecture and design; and knowledge management and information consulting.
This new addition in the curriculum will put the University of Illinois in the same league as Arizona State University and Washington University School of Engineering.
