STM is the leading global trade association for academic and professional publishers. It has over 120 members in 21 countries who each year collectively publish nearly 66% of all journal articles and tens of thousands of monographs and reference works. STM members include learned societies, university presses, private companies, start-ups and established businesses.
STM is a broad and welcoming organization, which includes large and small companies, not for profit organizations and learned societies, traditional primary and secondary publishers and new players. The mission of STM is to create a platform for exchanging ideas and information and to represent the interest of the STM publishing community in the fields of copyright, technology developments, and end user/library relations.
