Digital Data Changes Things

As more and more organizations are shifting to digital publications, Yahoo recently announced they will close four of their digital magazines. Information Today brought this information to our attention in their article, “Yahoo to close digital magazines.”

The decision to close publications including Yahoo Food, Health, Autos and Parenting came just after the news content giant stated they would be reducing their workforce. The digital focus will be shifted to Yahoo’s four most popular topics – news, sports, finance and lifestyle. Digital isn’t going away anytime soon, or ever. This move is strategic in nature.

The important factor of digital data is consistency, and what provides consistency? Standards. Of course we are all about standards. Access Innovations is one of a very small number of companies able to help its clients generate ANSI/ISO/W3C-compliant taxonomies.
